Mr. Brett A. Cooper, Principal email: bcooper@boyertownasd.org
It is with distinct excitement and pleasure that I am provided with this opportunity to serve as Principal for Boyertown Area Senior High School (BASH).
The District’s mission of enabling all students to succeed in a changing world is supported throughout the programs available to all of our students at BASH. We are a very student centered high school which strongly believes that it does take a community to raise a child. We welcome suggestions which will enhance the learning for all students within the walls of BASH.
Our focus on student achievement and literacy supports providing opportunities where our students learn to be creative and innovative critical thinkers in a safe, collaborative environment. We encourage inquiry among all stakeholders within the school community which we believe will increase the likelihood of success for all beyond the years of high school. We believe it is imperative that the focus of our building be in developing successful young men and women to become life-long learners in a 21st Century global economy through preparing them for jobs that may not even yet exist.
In supporting the District’s initiatives of promoting a high performing school system, we believe that our most valuable commodity, our students, will be best served by hiring and retaining people who care and continue to have the best interest of all students in mind.
We strive to provide students with many educational opportunities to build strong relationships with administration, faculty, support staff, and peers through a rigorous and relevant curriculum which supports well-articulated, clearly defined academic goals. Our instructional programs are supported through monitoring, compiling, analyzing, and using many forms of data. Through these various research-based and supported assessment practices, we will work to recognize, intervene and adjust instruction so we are able to meet the needs of all of our students.
We encourage the use of Community Portal to allow parents to view their children’s grades and assignments via the internet, and will continue our weekly electronic newsletter. Parents will receive additional information on various presentations and evening programs that will provide pertinent information regarding their children’s education, career planning, and safety. We strongly believe that these efforts promote greater school-to-home communication to ensure our students and parents are informed and aware of our many excellent programs.
I would like to leave you with a thought provoking quote from Neil Somerville which I believe defines our role as a school… “Without commitment, little will result.”
Should you have any questions or concerns relating to safety or the programs offered at Boyertown Area Senior High School, please do not hesitate to contact my office.
Thank you.
